My friend Mark from ThatTechShow has recently shot a lens test video with his new Olympus Zuiko 50mm f/1.4. The video was shot on Canon 5D MKII with a neutral (prolost) picture profile for a filming low contrast look. I personally love the look he has achieved with the combination of this lens, full frame camera and a flat picture profile. The bokeh is very likable indeed. I actually use the very same lens as my main 50mm prime and I’ve been very happy with mine. Recently I’ve tried using the Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 instead and wide open it felt much softer than Olympus, therefor I will be testing the Olympus against Canon soon to figure out which one is actually sharper. For now enjoy the video above of this very affordable, but also very impressive Olympus Zuiko 50mm f/1.4 lens.
