Fast Glass of the Dead: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Zack Snyder

Fast Glass of the Dead: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Zack Snyder

…m that is as Hollywood as you can possibly be – a Vegas-set zombie shooter-come-heist flick, complete with CGI zombie tiger – shot in the least Hollywood way possible. Could it be that the “Hollywood look” we have always aspired to is whatever we want it to be? “This weird combination of super high-tech and super low-tech,” is the way Snyder put it in this interview with CinemaBlend, barely containing a grin. “That feels like my wheelhouse. Taking… Continue Reading

LOMO 75mm T2.2 OCT19 Russian Cine Lens | In-Depth Review

LOMO 75mm T2.2 OCT19 Russian Cine Lens | In-Depth Review

…iced the range of flares this lens produces! There aren’t many lenses that come close to Helios 44-2 in lens flare competition, but I think LOMO 75mm might actually be a winner here. Its flares range from dreamy light blobs to various rainbows that look truly magical. This look is of course not something that one might want or need every time and thankfully as you stop down the lens, images become cleaner, so you can have the best of the both worl… Continue Reading

135mm Lens Test & Overview PART 1 (Helios, Chinon, Promura, Dollonds)

135mm Lens Test & Overview PART 1 (Helios, Chinon, Promura, Dollonds)

…but the focus ring is little stiff and the focusing through is very short comparing to the other 3. I’ve paid £10 for mine and even at this price I would only give this lens 2 out 5, there are just to many other 135s that are much better. Time to stick it back on eBay. ๐Ÿ™‚ The only weird thing, all the other Promura 135s I found on eBay at the time of writing a completely different, so please note, that my conclusion only applies to this particular… Continue Reading

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LRMwX2xE0k In this day and age of internet, useful content is everywhere and most of it is free for all of us to enjoy. I like the free content as much as any other guy, which is why I’ve never asked for any monetary support related to the content I create myself. I realize that this post will not be interesting to many and it might even annoy some of you, because I’m finally asking for your help and I’m sure not… Continue Reading

Tokina AT-X 80-200mm f/2.8 vs Pentax SMC 200mm f/2.5

Tokina AT-X 80-200mm f/2.8 vs Pentax SMC 200mm f/2.5

…oose Tokina as the winner. F/4 is fine for me, I don’t need the lens to be completely wide open, so I’m glad I kept the Tokina and sold the Pentax. Tokina much cheaper than Pentax and much more flexible thanks to it’s convenient zoom range. Pentax is still a great lens, but probably a bit overpriced even for a vintage lens. I love great value for money lenses and Tokina is exactly than, so this is the one I highly recommend to anyone. These are my… Continue Reading

200mm Lens Test & Overview. Part 1 (Hanimar, Chinon, Optimax, Prinzgalaxy)

200mm Lens Test & Overview. Part 1 (Hanimar, Chinon, Optimax, Prinzgalaxy)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qV2ctwb2Jrs&feature=player_embedded It is time for my second test so far. This I quickly tested 4 very cheap 200mm primes, all 4 in very easily adaptable M42 mount. 200mm is a nice long focal length for video, anything longer and camera starts go become very shaky, so for the long shots 200mm is one of the best choices. Back in a day, 200mm along was found any every big camera manufacturer’s range. There are so many… Continue Reading

400mm Comparison | Part 1 | Canon 100-400mm L Alternatives

…ron. The focusing ring is really smooth with quite a long focusing through comparing to other 2. The combination of shorter length and smooth focusing ring actually lets you focus with this lens without introducing camera shake. This is a big deal for me. There is also auto focusing on Canon DSLRs (for stills of course). The sharpens of the images is very almost identical to Tamron. Certainly a great performance great for the money. Same as Tamron… Continue Reading

Samyang 35mm f/1.4 Review & Test Footage

Samyang 35mm f/1.4 Review & Test Footage

…use use. It’s not incredibly cheap, but it offers a great value for money, comparing to the similar alternatives from the high-end companies. My lens is the video version”, the one with the fluid aperture adjustment, which is absolutely amazing feature for video work. The standard version one has a clickable aperture adjustment and you would have to get it de-clicked to achieve the fluid adjustment. The price is the same on clickable and video vers… Continue Reading

HELIOS 44m 58mm f/2 FIRST TEST + HELIOS vs Canon EF 50mm f/1.4

HELIOS 44m 58mm f/2 FIRST TEST + HELIOS vs Canon EF 50mm f/1.4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SC5n3zhnvvY&feature=player_embedded Above you can see a quick test I’ve done with this lens while out in a local park. It was really bright and I couldn’t use this lens at wide open aperture, so I think this test footage doesn’t do the justice do to this lens. I really need to test it out in low light next time. At f/2 is should be a great low light performer. I’ve also done some quick tests against the Canon EF 50m… Continue Reading
